it has been quite awhile since i posted a maternity style update. sorry about that, i have been a busy lady. we're getting close over here and we are all very excited about it. a small update on this little boy, he is kicking up a storm and they are some pretty powerful kicks. i have been having a lot of braxton hicks lately too, so things are cooking in there. i have gained just shy of 40 pounds so far and with only six weeks to go and baby boy is looking great. it is getting harder to be on my feet all day, as i tire easily, but i am happy to say that i am sleeping. hallelujah. i had a bad case of insomnia for a couple of months and it looks like it has finally passed. i have been washing and folding and putting away tiny boy clothes in my space time. i love that part. it's so much fun.
since i can't leave the house in my beloved slips, i tend to stick to maxi dresses and long skirts to stay comfortable. i did manage to get into a pair of jeans last week and wore a belly band (the only actual maternity piece i have bought this time around) to keep them up. it was awful, the jeans not the belly band, and i barely made it through brunch. i just don't like wearing tight clothes and am uncomfortable enough as it is. as soon as i got home i changed quickly back into a slip and put those denim jeans into the drawer, where they will stay for the duration of my pregnancy.
today we ventured out to a midwife appointment and then stopped at the puppy store to look at all of the adorable animals before going to trader joes to load up on groceries for the week. this is what i wore...
what i wore / basic white v-neck t-shirt. tye-dye maxi dress, gypsy05 from last year. bronze geometric cuff, c/o tiny armour. woven bracelets & basket purse, a local boutique. leather sandals, urban outfitters from three or four years ago.
get the look / i am pretty sure everyone has a plain white t-shirt in their drawers somewhere. pull it out and knot it over that bump. here is a similar dress in the same cut and style. here's another.
