STYLE MUSE: PENELOPE TREE.

penelope tree has both a name and a face that we will never forget. born in 1950, penelope was the only daughter to socialite marietta tree and journalist and investor, ronald tree. when she was the age of 13 legendary photographer diane arbus spotted and photographed her. her parents objected to her career as a model but once tree reached the age of 17 she moved into david bailey's flat in london's primrose neighborhood, a hang out for hippies during the 'swingin sixties.' she had the most unique and amazing style, vogue covers in her portfolio and was the ultimate sixties it girl. at 21 she broke out with a serious skin disease which left bad scars on her face which abruptly ended her career. i choose penelope to be this weeks style muse for her unique beauty & incredible style.

STYLE MUSE: FRANCOISE HARDY.

francoise hardy was born january 17, 1944 in paris france. she was given a guitar for her sixteenth birthday and just a year later answered an ad looking for young singers and was signed to the record lable vogue. she was a huge success and rode the popular ye-ye pop music wave of the sixties. she was beautiful and had incredible style. her stick straight hair, eyebrow-dusting bangs, raised cheek bones, pouty lips and almost men's wear inspired wardrobe drove her to style icon status. she was muse to both bob dylan and balenciaga's nicolas ghesquiere.

STYLE MUSE: MARIANNE FAITHFULL.

 

marianne faithfull, singer, song writer and actress, has been a style icon for decades. she was a close friend, and muse to the rolling stones and a girlfriend to mick jagger for several years in the sixties & seventies. her style was original and what many people today call rocker chic are still trying to mimic, even kate moss has been compared style wise to miss marianne faithfull. i adore her and her choice of fashion and that is why i chose her as todays style muse. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

                              

STYLE MUSE: FRANCES GALL.

frances gall, also known as france gall, was born isabelle genevieve marie anne gall, on october 9th, 1947 in paris france. she was raised in a family of musicians and  by the age of 16 was already a popular french ye-ye singer and had her first song over the radio. she grew to be one of frances absolute top of the pops. her style was always extremely fashion forward which had an impact on 60's style and that is why i chose her to be this weeks style muse.
