my house was crazy yesterday. it stormed from sunrise to sunset so the kids were cooped up indoors. by mid-afternoon a certain little someone was suffering from a wee dose of cabin fever. after several "birdie, that's naughty" "birdie, you're going to get hurt if you do that" moments such as riding the laundry hamper like a bull, chasing the cat around the house at full speed and chucking pillows off of the couch, i decided to pick up my camera and document any further mischief that may unfold. boy did i strike gold.
after cleaning up lunch i came into the living room to find a goldfish cracker stomping fest in progress, party of one. later, when going to use the bathroom i spotted an empty baby bottle in the toilet. i also caught my littlest becoming a bit too friendly with one of our living room plants and discovered that the crayon bandit had struck again, this time on our refrigerator. then there was the cliff diving off of the furniture and chair dancing with big sister.
it was crazy. it was loud. it was at times unnerving, but it was also completely wonderful. the amount of fun being had in this house, regardless of being on lock down, was at an all time high. there were smiles all around and uncontrollable bouts of laughter, even from this mama who had to clean it all up. i was definitely reassured how important it is to let kids be kids. pure awesome!
