i blogged about some of my favorite local spots in houston, the city i have lived in for going on five years, over at modcloth yesterday. it was really fun getting to spend a day out and about, just me and my husband, visiting the places we love and snapping photos.
first stop, antidote coffee shop in the heights... they have great coffee, outdoor movies in their courtyard and our friends at good dog hot dog park their truck in the parking lot and serve up gourmet hot dogs, homemade chips and the best beer cheese soup you've ever tasted.
replay on 19th in the heights... my favorite vintage shop. really, it's so good!

brazil cafe in montrose... amazing food! try the beet sandwich and the pomme frites. you'll thank me.

cactus music. a great selection of vinyl with friendly and knowledgeable staff. they have in-stores most weekend where you can see local and touring bands and enjoy a free pint of locally brewed saint arnolds beer.

agora coffee, beer and wine bar in montrose. i love this place and you will too if you can find a seat.

and revival market in the heights. my absolute favorite! everything is incredible. house made soups and sandwiches, groceries from local farmers, ranchers, cheese makers and food artisans, fresh pastries and macarons made by top chef desserts star rebecca masson, great local coffee, my beloved pickled beets... the list goes on and on.

i love this city!
