FARMERS MARKET

i have to say that the franklin farmers market, though small, is one of the best farmers markets that i have been to since living in california so many years ago. it was our second time going and will surely not be the last. the big kids decided to stay home this trip, but i think i will drag them along next time. so many beautiful flowers, colorful fruits and veggies, farm fresh eggs, hot homemade donuts, live music and more. we ate at the biscuit love truck and then stood in line to get some fresh squeezed juice, only to be disappointed because they sold out. next time i am headed straight to the juice, apparently it's something to write home about. we didn't stock up on a whole lot, but next time i will be more prepared with a small shopping list in mind and a cooler. they have a great selection of produce, meats, milk and cheese and house plants that i would love to scoop up.

it's beautiful here. warm and in the mid to high seventies during the day and nice and cool at night. we are trying to spend as much time outdoors as possible since the hot, hot heat of summer is just around the corner. we are planning a lot of fun activities to do with the kids while the weather is amazing and also a camping trip for our family and friends in the next few weeks. we haven't been camping in years.

WE WELCOME SPRING

i am starting to understand just how crazy the weather here in nashville truly is. a couple of days ago we were frolicking in the snow out back and then today we had warm sunshine on our faces and a nice cool breeze. we spent our morning outdoors to enjoy this beautiful spring weather and explore our new city. we checked out the dragon park which we all agree was pretty neat. afterwards we stopped for a quick lunch at the dog, where they make fancy hot dogs and delicious fries. it was a good morning. the park and the dog will have to become a regular thing for this family of mine. i am already craving another one of those tasty dogs. we welcome spring and all of the adventures that are just around the corner.

A NIGHT AT THE ZOO.

we spent the evening with some friends at the zoo for their holiday"zoo lights" showcase. we had never been before and are slowly crossing things off our list that we have yet to do here in houston before the big move. parking was a little tricky, but we made it inside and walked the lights. we said hello to the animals that were awake, which just happened to be some of our favorites, the elephants, the giraffes and the lion. we snacked on hot pretzels and dippin' dots, we watched the dancers, rode the carousel and listened to some great christmas music. the end of the night got a little "interesting" with it being two hours past birdie's bedtime, but it was really fun and the kids loved it. i am so glad we went.

GOOD FRIENDS.

we took a trip out to galveston island yesterday to spend time with some of our favorite friends. they just moved into an awesome beach house which couldn't be more perfect for them as they are all southern california transplants and love to surf every chance they get. kassi was pregnant at the same time i was and her twins were born just eleven days after sailor. it was so good to see them all.

we had chili for dinner and the grown ups had some wine and passed the babies around while all the kids played a giant game of hide and go seek and threw bananas at each other. haha, don't ask. we can't wait to do it again. i will miss these guys so much after we move.
