AT THE VINEYARD

we headed back to arrington vineyards friday evening to relax and share a couple of bottles of wine with friends out in the country. what an incredible night it was complete with beautiful rolling green hills, live music, squirrel chasing, fireflies and some great food while the sun was setting. it was some good old fashion fun. if you haven't been to arrington yet and are in the area, i highly recommend it. it's a short 25 miles outside of nashville and is just breathtaking. a giant property filled with little nooks to explore, great wine to sip on and a great vibe with the kindest people.

OH NASHVILLE

we went out today for a bite to eat and to trader joes to pick up some groceries. the weather here is amazing. hot and humid to the nashville natives, i'm told, but for us texas folk this is a dream. the breeze makes the summer bearable. there are lots of cute areas in this city that we are exploring. so many little neighborhoods filled with new places to stop by and see. many of you have asked me to give you a little nashville tour of all the great spots, but i feel i am not yet qualified to do so. i am building a list right now of favorites and will share them once my list grows a bit longer.

CUMBERLAND PARK

one of our favorite places to spend an afternoon here in our new city is cumerland park. we call it teletubbie park because it reminds us of the silly old show with those colorful alien-like characters. the park is right near downtown next to the cumberland river and right below nashville's famous pedestrian bridge. it's impressively clean, modern and full of fun things to do. the rolling ground is part astroturf/part live grass and it has a large concrete area with fountains for splashing. these photos are a few weeks old, while the weather was still cool and the fountains were not yet turned on. we picked up lunch and picnicked with some of our sweet friends and their equally sweet kids.

now that summer has officially begun, i hear the fountains are on and we can't wait to visit again with swimsuits, towels and sunscreen in tow.
