the big kids came home last night. it snowed while we slept and everyone was surprised to see a wintery blanket of snow covering the yard this morning. we don't get a lot of it here in nashville, so it's pretty exciting when sticks to the ground. the local schools are closed today, which i find funny. i grew up in boulder and remember school being cancelled only once, when i was a sophomore. that was due to several feet of snow, not a couple of inches. i suppose people in the south aren't prepared for it.
we all bundled up and ran outside to play. julian couldn't find his gloves so he put socks on his hands. ha! afterwards we came inside to warm up with hot cocoa and marshmallows. since school was cancelled, we decided to have a "snow day" too and are watching christmas movies. home alone, elf, a christmas story, national lampoon's christmas vacation... we've got all the good ones.
the only member of our family who is not particularly fond of the snow is frances. a friend of ours gave us this little pink sweater for her, which we put on before taking her out this morning. she does not like it one bit and will not go potty. anyone have any tips on how to get a pup to go when it's cold and wet outside?
have a great day!
