HOME AGAIN

we had such a great time while in california. A BLAST! we arrived home a few hours ago and just got the two little kids into bed. it was tough with the time change and all of our schedules being out of whack. we are exhausted and have to do it all over again early friday morning when we head to chicago. i'll be back here tomorrow to share our california adventure with you. right now i think it's time to catch up on some sleep. 

curious to know how the plane ride with a toddler and a baby went this time around? i am happy to report that it went well. sailor slept almost the whole time we were in the air and birdie stayed well entertained. success!

SAILOR'S CORNER

baby sailor is sharing a room with us for the time being. we chose this option for several reasons from the ease of nursing through the night to the comfort of having him nearby while he is so small. he will move in with his big sister eventually, but until that day comes we set up a small space for him by my side of the bed.

where to find / alma mini crib by bloom, sheepskin, pendleton blanket, lucky boy sunday toys, pia wallen cross blankets, blabla donkey, rainbow stacker toy, ubbi diaper pail, badger baby balm and hyland's teething tablets. (those last two are my favorite baby products of the moment.)

sailor's outfit is from mabo kids. the large dream catcher was found on a road trip, but you can find a similar one here and the little one was made by a friend while i was pregnant. the sign above our bed was a vintage find on etsy.

A WORK IN PROGRESS

here are two very small glimpses into my home. i would love to give you a complete house tour, but i am afraid that my house is no where near complete. we still have boxes in nearly every room or at least every closet. this house is many of the things that i desired in a new home. it's large, open, has lots of light, high ceilings, white walls and wood flooring on the main level. it also has some things that i don't really care for like weird angles, a pink marble and brass fire place and 90's porn star track lighting. since we are renting this house, we can't do much to change the things that we dislike. i am in the middle of giving our fireplace a temporary face-lift right now and i am trying to make our current furniture work in our odd shaped living room. the track lighting, i am at a loss for. i have learned to just not look up and to keep my camera pointed down. our turquoise sectional isn't working in our new living room space and i am purchasing a new-to-me sofa this week, that i am pretty excited about. i am also having wall art commitment issues and have not hung much yet. our new space is a work in progress and still somewhat of a blank canvas. as i start to figure out each room, i will keep you posted and share my progress.
