THREE MONTHS OLD.

three months have passed by since this little sailor boy came into our lives. he is a happy little baby and rarely cries, but when he does, man... he shows you his lungs. he is very strong given his small size. he loves to work out his legs when his hands are held. he pushes himself up and stands with a smile of accomplishment on his face. he is very close to rolling over so i'm afraid his days of unattended couch lounging are over. he coos and hums to share his thoughts with those around him. if only we had a translator. he is sleeping very well, only waking once during the night for a little belly full of milk to help get him through til morning.

his time as a small baby is speeding by so fast. we are trying to savor every moment.

doesn't it look like they are holding hands in the last photo? i thought it was too cute not to share.

TWO MONTHS OLD.

sailor rhodes is two months old now and as you can see, he is not a tiny baby anymore. he has filled out quite nicely and is chubby and soft and squishy. i love it! he is still a pretty mellow little dude, although he does have a bad case of insomnia. he tries to sleep most of the day and then wants to stay awake during the night which is tough. i have been working on reversing his schedule but it's difficult to remind myself to keep him awake during the day when i am busy with school and chasing little birdie around. hah! but we're working on it slowly but surely.

he's my dream baby. i love him to pieces.

ONE MONTH OLD.

our baby son, sailor rhodes is just a little over one month old now. can you believe it? i say this every time, but time really does fly by. i just want to slow things down and soak up all of this tiny baby time before it's gone. i feel like you wake up one day and your child is two or nine or... twelve. it's bittersweet.

as cliche as it sounds, it feels like this little one has been a part of our family all along. he is a perfect fit. he eats, he sleeps, he coo's and squee's. he loves his tummy time and is getting so good at holding that little head up high. he is already getting so big. there have been a few itty bitty onesies that i have had to tuck away, again bittersweet.

this boy is near perfect in our eyes and we love him so.

DIY / CROSS BUNTING.

CROSS BUNTING.

you will need:

1 large piece of black card stock or poster board
a ruler or measuring tape
scissors
a pencil
a needle
black thread

this is a quick and easy project that you can make in less than an hour. first, cut your card stock into 3" strips and then cut the strips again to make 3x3" squares. next cut out 1x1" squares on each corner to make a cross shape. repeat until you have your desired number of crosses. next stitch each cross with a needle (three stitches should do) onto black thread and continue, leaving enough room for spacing, until you have your cross bunting. you can make it as short or as long as you like. hang with pretty tape on the wall or tie the ends to hooks or nails to hang from the ceiling.
