A CHANGE IS GONNA COME.

many things are happening around here. many good and exciting things.

there is the obvious, we have a new family member living in the house. he is such a joy and we are loving every minute with him. there have also been some opportunities that have come my way over the past six months that i have been working on and some that i am still pondering. there is an upcoming family trip that we have planned for november along with mine and aubrey's one year wedding anniversary. then there are the holidays, the new year and shortly after that it looks like this family of six will be setting out on a new adventure. there's been a change of plans, instead of moving right outside of austin where we originally decided to settle down, we are packing up and relocating out of state to embark on a new journey. we are a little nervous moving somewhere where we are strangers and we will miss so many amazing people here in texas, but with that comes a lot of excitement. we are excited to make new friends, to build new relationships and to explore a new city. the kids are excited for snow in the winters and who am i kidding, so are the adults. yes, there are many good things to come.

i am excited to share more of these things with you as they draw closer and nashville, we are excited to call you home. ahhh... i just said that out loud.

"la bonne vie" which means "the good life" in french. i really need to pick up my dslr more. i have been slacking in the picture taking department.

A SWEET FINE DAY.

my big kids or as i like to call them, "the teenagers" are home! they flew in last night and put a big smile on all of our faces. we are so happy to have them home, especially birdie. she misses them so much when they are away.

today it was back to school for us all after a short baby sailor break. i'm not going to lie, i was a little nervous to add "taking care of a newborn baby" in with our already beyond busy schedule. to my surprise the day went fairly smooth, sailor slept for long stretches of time and it turned out to be quite productive. we even had time to squeeze in some marbling and a fun and educational game of bird bingo.

we spent the evening out on the town for the first time as a family of six for a bit of shopping and dinner. challenging at times, but fairly simple. i think we are getting the hang of things around here with another little one in the house. it doesn't take long.

HIS FIRST BATH.

many of you may remember her first bath just a little over two years ago. she was so tiny back then. it only seemed fitting that we would document her baby brothers first bath as well. same bathroom, same sink, same infant tub, same kind of soap, only this time we have an extra helper...

looking back at old photos i cannot believe just how much baby sailor looks like baby birdie. to me they look like twins in photos but not so much in person. i am excited to see how he grows.
