our easter sunday started out bright and early. the day was full of egg hunts, candy, good food and smiles. my long time friend darrell came into town from florida to spend a few days with us and he helped me cook a big easter dinner. we had honey ham, carrot soup, baby blue pear and strawberry salad, grilled corn on the cobb and asparagus, roasted sweet potatoes, mustard au gratin potatoes, sweet rolls, carrot cake and pineapple upside down cake. it was a lot of food, but so delicious. i think we all gained a few pounds. after dinner we had another easter egg hunt at the kids request and watched being elmo, which i highly recommend if you haven't seen it. such a sweet documentary. we had an incredible day.
my pal darrell and i headed out of town the following morning to celebrate our ten year friendiversary in austin. i will share pictures from that adventure soon. hope you all had a lovely holiday and week. i've missed you guys and am excited to share so much with you in the days to come. xoxo!
footnote: i haven't nursed birdie in four days. i was terrified that i wouldn't be able to stop nursing her because she was so attached. it was such a comforting, happy place for her since the day she was born, but it was time to stop. i am proud of myself for going strong for twenty months. she is doing great and hardly asks for boobies anymore. i used the two day trip out of town as a jump start and then have been using simple distraction to keep it up. success! i am so proud of her.
