i found this quirky, 1930's embroidered piece on etsy recently and decided to turn it into a new throw pillow for the couch. i used a thick cream cotton for the backing. it was a quick and simple project and i love the way the pillow turned out. we are still working on things over here and hoping to have most of the down stairs done by easter, just in time for a special out of town guest. most of our weekend was spent working on the house. even our laundry situation is looking up. it's more like a very small hill as opposed to a giant mountain. it's kind of a miracle. we did manage to get out for a sunday morning walk and had a patio brunch at onion creek. the weather is perfect right now. it's a shame that within the next couple of weeks it will most likely be muggy, hot and humid again. i am already missing the cold weather.
footnote: i still haven't gotten around to posting round two of the yard sale. i haven't really had a lot of extra time, but i will do so this week for sure. all of last weeks yard sale items are going out in tomorrow's mail.
