HOME IMPROVEMENT.

as i've mentioned before, we are in the middle of some pretty big house simplifying and sprucing up projects. i think that it's coming along nicely. i keep a home inspiration folder on my desk top that i click and drag all of the pretty home inspiration that i find on design blogs. after doing this for a number of years, the said inspiration folder gets pretty full. funny how your style changes over time. i found myself deleting a lot out of there this morning. however, i did notice that i am completely drawn to the bright white spaces filled with pops of color and texture. well over half of the photos i have collected reflect that.

these are a few of the images that are getting my spring home re-do clock ticking. we start painting the living room tomorrow today. yay! i know... a few of you commented on the post below that you love the color of our current living room, but i need to brighten this place up. our other living/family room will still be the dark taupe/gray for awhile. we're taking on one room at a time. sadly for those who asked, i do not know the name of the current paint color. it was like this when we moved in.

SPRING TREATS.

we made homemade apple-strawberry and apple-blueberry pops today. a handful of organic frozen berries and a generous splash of 100% apple juice into the blender and into our ice pop maker. that's it! they were frozen and ready to eat 7 minutes later. yep, you read that right, fresh, healthy, homemade popsicles for the kids in just seven minutes. so awesome! we're excited to try more flavor combinations. next time we want to try adding fresh banana slices. i see many pop filled days in our future.

SPRING IS HERE.

yesterday was the first day of spring. sadly, it was cold and rainy so we stayed indoors all day. today on the other hand, it was beautiful. the kids asked to go feed the ducks at a park near downtown. we made a quick stop at the day old bread shop, bought a couple of loaves and headed to the park. the kids were over the moon to find that most of the ducks were quite friendly and hungry. they got to feed the baby ducklings and they found a nest of duck eggs. pretty exciting! there were huge smiles all around.

after we ran out of bread, we walked around the park and looked at all of the surrounding historical homes. pretty cool stuff.
