today was so fun! i met up with my pals tracy and alix this morning and got the pleasure of meeting their sweet little boys cooper and wolfie too. (oh and i even met their husbands, briefly.) we had a lovely time in the city with the kids in tow for the afternoon and then spent a little time, just girls, in the evening. thanks husbands. ;)
we went to lunch at cha cha cha's on haight. it's a tapas restaurant and oh mah gahhh... it is so good. and the san gria!!! don't even get me started on the san gria. it was a lunch i hope to have at least one more time before we leave san francisco.
we spent a little time enjoying the beautiful weather in golden gate park...
and then did a little walking and window shopping...
there was this adorable children's store that we stopped inside and i spotted this tiny handmade elephant, no... it was a tiny bunny (i was really tired last night when i wrote this post), that had the prettiest embroidery. it was only $25 but i decided to think about it and then if it was still on my mind by tomorrow, i would go back and get it. so far it's still on my mind. i think i will go back in the morning and buy it for birdie as a token of our trip to san francisco. if i do, i'll post a picture for you to see.
during our stroll i peeked through the window of a little bakery on fillmore appropriately called fillmore bakeshop and spotted macarons. of course i went in.
and of course i bought some.
we wrapped up our evening with a yummy dinner at delfina. we shared two delicious pizzas and toasted to new friendships over blood orange mimosas. it was perfection.
this day was just too good. i've known both tracy and alix online as friends for well over a year now, but today we met in person for the very first time. i felt as if i'd known them for years. it felt so normal and comfortable. i love these ladies!!!
footnote: i brought my macarons back to the hotel room with me and nibbled on a few while typing this blog post. they are amazing!!! if you're ever in the city, be sure to check out father and daughter run, fillmore bakeshop. it's a treat!
