here's a little peek into our little vegetable garden. it's a big work in progress, but we are loving every minute of it. so far we have only planted into one of our gro-pods. we have four of them and are very excited to plant into the other three. we designated three for vegetables and fruit and one for flowers. the kids had the best time digging the holes and planting the first batch of plants. they made cute little hand written signs to keep tabs on what we are growing. so far our little garden is thriving. we water it each day for 45 minutes and everything but the cucumbers are growing nicely. aubrey is going to be enclosing the gro-pods with recycled wood boxes over the summer. we are hoping to make another trip to the wabash store next weekend to buy our next round of plants. we cannot wait until it's time to eat fresh, home grown fruits and vegetables! so far we have planted summer squash, butternut squash, cucumbers, cantaloupe, cherry tomatoes, jalapenos, watermelon, zucchini and egg plant. we have a bunch of fresh herbs that are ready to be transferred into little cans and pots as well... mint, basil, thyme, dill, oregano... i know there's more, i just can't think of them right now.
it's really cute to see how excited julian and milla get each day to check the gardens progress. it's something they can call their own and be really proud of. i highly recommend starting a little garden of your own, kids or no kids, big or small, in the ground, planters or pots. it's so rewarding in so many ways. i look forward to sharing our garden progress with you all. xo.
