so we've made a decision. we are going to homeschool next year and i couldn't be more excited! i was blown away, BLOWN AWAY by all of the incredible feedback i received regarding schooling at home. you guys are awesome for sharing your stories with me. thank you so much! julian will be home schooled, he's very excited, and we are letting milla plum decide whether or not she wants to attend her public school for one more year or home school with her big brother. i'm still deciding on curriculum. i have heard of many that combine curriculums to better suit their children's needs so we will see how things go. we are going to allocate one of the rooms in the house to homeschooling. it's not going to be a "class room" per say, but i am going to find a big (preferably vintage) chalk board, fill the room with books, maps, instruments and art supplies and just make a very cozy nook for learning. more of a library/learning space for the kiddos. ooh, and i finally have the perfect place to display my vintage globe collection! we've got some great ideas as far as learning outside of the home as well. public library days, museums, private music lessons and group activities for the kiddos to meet and socialize with other children.
why not give it a shot, ya know?! i mean it's not like we can't enroll them into private school if it doesn't work out, but i think it will be really great. thank you again for all of your support. i look forward to sharing our experience with you all.
