WHAT I WORE: BIRDIE & ME.

this weekend was jam packed with craziness! we had a sick milla plum on our hands, poor girlie, a baby shower to attend and a friends birthday party to celebrate. on saturday we had a handful of errands to run including a much needed carwash, an oil change and a little lunch date. busy busy busy! this is what the birdie and i wore... oh and don't mind the overgrown roots i've got goin on in these photos, i need to color my hair this week.

MAMA STYLE: FEATURING JEN OF JEN LOVES KEV.

todays mama is jen from jen loves kev. jen is the biggest sweetheart and one of my fellow delighful dozeners. she has an adorable little baby girl named rowan that is just a few weeks younger than my little birdie. she is one very stylish mama and i am so excited to feature her mama style with you all today.

jen's style tip: stay true to who you are. you don't have to fall into the trap of having to drastically change your style. for me that is pretty floral dresses. a full skirt and opaque tights are super comfortable and easy to move around in with your little one. a dark pattern works wonders for covering up the inevitable spit up.

jen's look is the perfect example of mama friendly layers. shes wearing a cute dress that buttons in front (so those who are nursing can do so easily) along with a blouse underneath that also buttons for easy access. a lightweight cardigan sweater, tights and comfy but also very cute little flats since being a mama means you need to spend a lot of time on your feet.

WHAT I WORE.

my almost hubsy is finally home... hip hip hooray! i am thrilled to have him back where he belongs. i am also so excited to have him here to take my pictures for my outfit posts, haha. i have yet to try to set up the ol' tripod with the baby bird at my side. i guess i'm just a little bit scared to try it, but i'm going to have to one of these days because i cannot go as long as i did with out showing off some of my favorite ensembles. today we went out to run a few long awaited errands and grabbed a bite to eat. this is what i wore...

today has been a rough one. milla plum is home sick with a little stomach bug and baby bird has been one sad little lady. i've been taking care of them along with picking up the house and catching up on laundry. it's just been one of those days. the good news is that papas is driving home as i type and should arrive back in town sometime during the wee hours of the morning. i cannot wait for a big ol' hug and a long nap.

so many things that i've been meaning to do have been put on hold this week. it's not easy playing single mama. i do a really good job at holding down the fort until around day three or four. then my energy runs out and i just wanna curl up into a little ball on the couch and rest, but resting is not really a option when taking care of three kiddos. i did manage to make a yummy lunch today... tofu egg rolls with colemans mustard, rainbow tomato and fresh mozzarella salad plus half an avocado. it was delicious and gave me a little burst of energy to keep me going through the afternoon.
