twelve. weeks. old. (a little late.)
my teeny tiny baby isn't so teeny tiny anymore. she's three months old now. wow. where did the time go. she's doing great and i still have no complaints. her schedule got a little thrown off since the thanksgiving weekend. she goes to bed late and sleeps in late so i'm going to try to shift her sleeping pattern a bit so our days start and ends a little earlier. i am also struggling with moving her into her crib. i have always co-slept with my babies. (i know it's a debatable subject, but please don't leave me comments on how dangerous co-sleeping can be. i've always done it, i loved it and will always do it with my babies.) any way, i've been thinking about transferring my little bird into her crib to sleep. i just don't sleep well with her in my bed. she's the biggest wiggle worm. but, i am very sad at the thought. this time when she's little is so special and goes by so fast that i feel like i'm cheating myself and her out of that special bonding time. julian didn't go into his crib until he was 6 months and milla, she was in my bed until 18 months. i feel bad wanting to make the switch so soon, but seriously, this birdie kicks and hits and pushes me all. night. long. i haven't decided for sure yet, but it's on my mind a lot and i feel guilty for that. i love her so much but i also love my sleep.
anyway... sorry i rambled on that one. in other baby news gemma is grabbing with her tiny hands more and more. she's showing a growing interest in her toys (yes!) and she likes to watch kipper the dog clips on youtube while sitting on mama & papas laps. she giggles at anyone who speaks with a british accent for some odd reason and since kipper is an english pup, she's kind of in giggle heaven. seriously so precious. we also just decorated for christmas and this tiny bird loves to stare at the christmas tree lights. it's so cute!

we had such a lovely extended holiday weekend. seriously it was fun fun fun! we went and got a christmas tree and decorated for the holidays. listened to christmas records, ate lots of thanksgiving left overs, watched many movies including elf, the neverending story and home alone and were just together, as a happy family of birds. this is what we wore...

such a lovely, long holiday weekend it has been. today the bird and i decided to take a little afternoon trip to visit one of my very favorite friends and her little boy. we chatted while the babies goo'd and gaa'd, ordered thai food, had a glass of wine and miss bird took her very first nap ever in a crib. milestone! it was her baby friends crib but she went down easily and slept for about an hour. i think i will slowly migrate her into her own crib during naps until i can make the full transition in the near future. any who... this is what i wore.
