i have been a wanna be juicer for years. i would watch juicer infomercials late at night, read freshly juiced blog posts or glance at a juice recipe in a magazine or on tv and say to myself "i need to buy a juicer." but i never did. other things would take the cake on my shopping lists but the juicer has always been there in the background labeled 'some day soon.' they're certainly not cheap and a good one ranges between $150-$400 so it was an easy purchase to put off til later.
recently i had a discussion with a close friend and she mentioned that she had an awesome juicer that she never uses that i could take under my wing until she wanted it back. i jumped at the suggestion and that evening lugged a very heavy duty, no kidding around juicer home with me in the back seat of my car. a few days later i went to the market and stocked up on fresh fruits and veggies and planned on making juice. well... it didn't happen. i got busy and distracted and my fresh produce went bad.
well my pal jenny made juice today and reminded me that i need to make some damn juice dag nab it. so i did. i had a bunch of organic carrots in the crisper and some delicious fuji apples so i decided to make muh favorite juice combo, apple carrot juice.
and there you have it. my very first juicing experience. i lost my juicing virginity...whoo-hoo! it's was quite simple and pretty fun and clean up was a breeze. the juice was sooo good. i used 3 apples and about 7 or 8 carrots. i cannot wait to make more juice. i'm excited to try some fun juice recipes that i have spotted online and to experiment with some of my own little concoctions.
do you juice? do you have any yummy juice combos that you could share with me? i would love to hear them. XO!
