were calling it our three day weekend since we happily took friday off to spend with the kiddos at their school field trip to challenger park. boy was it a hot one! hours and hours in the sun with countless activities was quite tiring for this baby growing mama! but it was so amazing to see my little spawns interacting with their friends the way that they do each day when their parents aren't around. seriously too cute. here are a few shots of my kiddos having fun with their friends... milla's friends and classmates were all pretty camera happy and willing to pose for pictures...
the boys in julians class, however, weren't so willing to smile for the camera. it was a struggle but we managed to get a few photos of the boys...
it was a sweaty day and i got quite a nasty little sunburn on my shoulders but i had a great time. after the park i took a little nappy on the couch and then we headed off to our friends house for a lovely mediterranean home cooked meal, full of great conversation, brownie baking, laughter, and baby time including a cloth diaper lesson with their 5 month old baby boy. we got home just after midnight and crashed hard after a long day and long night.
saturday we all slept in a little bit and then hit up a couple of yard sales on our way to breakfast at baby barnabys. hands down best breakfast in all of houston. you can catch us there pretty much every weekend. there's always a bit of a wait but it's totally worth it!
i always get the green eggs, full of spinach and artichokes and delicious cheese with chicken apple sausage, little roasted potatoes & toast. it's the jam!!! the kiddos always get the homemade waffles with fresh fruit and the boy gets the big breakfast. mmmm!!!
after breakfast we dropped the kiddies off at friends houses to play and came home to a quiet house. i was in a sewing mood so i whipped up a few burp cloths made from vintage fabric and then started to work on the crib bumper and quilt.
and listened to some vinyl.
today we made a big yummy breakfast and had a lazy sunday. it's been really nice and relaxing. only 4 more days of school til the kiddos are out for summer break. shortly after they will hop on a plane and go and visit their dad in florida for the summer. always a sad time for me as i miss them like crazy. i am hoping that being pregnant and preparing for the baby bird will help the months fly by and they'll be home in no time. they come home 10 days before my due date so hopefully they won't miss the little birds arrival.
speaking of the little bird... we finally have a name picked out that we both love. we've had two that we've been going back and fourth between for months and we finally settled on the perfect one. we're working on a really cute way to make the big announcement. can't wait to share it with all of you!
XOXO.
