we spent an evening at a place called love circle earlier this week. it's nashville's version of "lover's lane" and you can see the whole city from the hill top. we packed some blankets, picked up a few pizzas and spent the evening watching the city, dancing in the golden hour light and enjoying the perfect weather. i am so thankful to live in such a beautiful place.
i am so thankful for this little family of mine. we spent mother's day weekend outside enjoying the beautiful weather, adventuring together, laughing and having a great time exploring our new city. they spoiled me with love, handmade cards and artwork, two new cook books and a few other thoughtful things. my favorite part was a sweet video that the kids made for me. i love these guys with all my heart. hope your mother's day weekend was equally as grand!
each mother's day morning my kids come into my room with arms full of homemade cards, construction paper artwork and hand picked flowers. they bring me my very favorite breakfast, eggs benedict and roasted potatoes, and pile into my bed eager to watch me open their gifts. later in the day we venture off to the local nursery and fill a cart with flowers and plants, pots and soil and then return home to spend the afternoon outside planting and re-potting, listening to records and drinking iced cold lemonade and sangria. it's a day to feel a little pampered, enjoy my family without the day to day distractions and a day off from changing diapers.

we went to arrington vineyards recently to celebrate my beautiful friend and new part-time helper's birthday. we had a wonderful time sitting outside on that cool sunday evening, under her favorite wonky tree, drinking the vineyard's wine and eating fruit and cheeses and crusty bread until we could barely move. we all had a lovely time. i will be returning to arrington very soon. it's the perfect afternoon activity for family and friends, and the wine is really good too. we took a case home with us. happiest birthday wishes jordie!
