MAMA STYLE: FEATURING AMIE OF THIEF&BANDIT.

this weeks mama is not only adorable, she is also extremely talented and the creative behind the handmade brand thief&bandit. we've got quite of few of her pieces and we just LOVE them! anyway... amie is her name and she's got the best laid back mama style. she's also got a cutie little boy named wolfgang. YES, wolfgang!

amie's style tip: like many mamas, it's go go go!  specifically, i divide my time between working in my studio, hanging with wolf, and running all over town doing errands.  that being said, i like to be comfortable but i'm my best, most confident self when i feel i look good.  if that means spending just a few more minutes on myself or going to the gym a few times a week, it's totally worth it.  also, you can definitely do jeans and a t shirt, just add accessories that pop, cute shoes and some cool sunglasses and you'll totally be a HOT mama!

MAMA STYLE: FEATURING MY GIRL THURSDAY.

todays mama is the adorable thursday from my girl thursday. this little lady is crafty like a fox and the funniest of funny. her tweets are hilarious. i highly suggest taking a peek at her blog if you haven't already. it's sure to please. she's also a mama to a beautiful little one year old. i chose thursday to be apart of mama style because she and i have lots in common... we both love to thirft, sew, mother and of course we choose not partake in the mama trap when it comes to style. i adore her and i hope you will too.

thursday's style tip: my advice has less to do with changing your clothes and more to do with changing your frame of mind.  i've met many brand new mama's that are feeling more proactive about their style choices than ever before (myself included).  but that isn't to say that there aren't people in my life that openly question the importance of this newfound interest.  don't let the skepticism of others (or even yourself) stand in the way of your personal style.  besides, life is too short for boring clothes.

MAMA STYLE: FEATURING ARIELLE FROM BEAUTIFUL JOURNEY.

this weeks mama is the lovely arielle from a beautiful journey. she's a cutie and had an adorable baby boy named leland. arielle contacted me about participating in our mama style feature and of course i said "yes!" she has such a comfortable, clean and cute mama style.

arielle's style tip: since having a little one, i've stocked up on floral skirts and all sorts of cardigans. putting on a pretty skirt in the morning is perfect for me and my busy schedule. skirts are so easy to find nowadays at vintage stores or little shops (and are reasonably priced.) they are also super comfortable and add color to any wardrobe. pairing a skirt with a cute cardigan, and some good boots or shoes makes for an easy and versatile outfit any mama could pull off.

MAMA STYLE: FEATURING MELISSA OF DEAR BABY.

this weeks mama is my sweet friend and little gemma birds baby penpal's mom, melissa. melissa has a lovely blog where she is documenting her upcoming pregnancy with baby #2, a boy, they named arlo. so excited to see the little man who should be arriving in a just few more months. melissa has managed to keep up her mama style while being pregnant and chasing around her sweet little daughter everly.

melissa's style tips: i've got two and they've always served me well.  

the first - don't be afraid of color. it instantly adds interest and can take even the most basic elements (say a pair of dark denim skinny jeans and a fitted white tee) and make them standout when paired with a pretty cardigan in mustard yellow or playful, bright red flats. i love collecting brightly colored day dresses, skirts in crayola inspired hues and cardigans in every color of the rainbow.  especially when i'm pregnant (and with so many maternity specific clothing lines stuck in a neutral palette)  i like adding a little "POW!" to my wardrobe with sunny additions of color.

my second tip - the single most versatile and useful accessory in my wardrobe is a skinny waist belt. i'm currently 7 months pregnant and wearing a little belt above my bump to help define my waist has been crucial in keeping many of my flowy dresses from making me look like i'm wearing a tent. over the years, i have collected them in all colors and materials (soft suede, braided leather, stretchy ones with vintage buckles) and love how they add interest and detail to my outfits.  pregnant or not, it's my go to accessory!
