i'm a pretty lucky lady. i have incredible kids and an incredible husband. they make my world go round. my kids fill my days with their antics, the funniest conversation and wide, authentic smiles. my husband has the kindest eyes, a heart of gold and gives the biggest bear hugs. i love this family of mine.
here is a little bit about what's been happening around here:
we have all been a bit under the weather this past week. the flu is slowly taking its course and moving from one family member to the next. it is now on its way out, but has taken its toll. we are all exhausted.
aubrey returned from a quick work trip in houston this morning with a case, yes a case of my favorite pickled beets from revival market. i may have done the happy dance upon his and their arrival.
i've been reading up on the montessori method and gaining more knowledge every day. we are starting to implement some of the philosophy into our home for both birdie and baby sailor. as i mentioned on instagram yesterday... there is no right or wrong way to homeschool. every child learns differently. we are here just doing our thing and sharing bits and pieces with all of you. if you do not like it, then i kindly ask you to move along. we won't mind.
i have completely fell in love cooking since we moved. i just adore my new kitchen. it's big and open and bright which is the complete opposite of our old one. i hope to share some more kitchen adventures with you shortly.
we are experiencing so many changes with our new city and home. most of which we welcome and are enjoying. one that we are not too fond of are the deer ticks. the weather is warming up and they are all over the place. we have to check for them each time we come inside. kind of a pain.
we are going to plant another small garden this year. i want to plant some herbs, tomatoes, some strawberries and maybe one or two more easy-growing vegetables. i'll keep you posted on what we choose.
i bought a juicer just before we moved. my favorite juice so far is, kale, spinach, apple, cucumber and fennel juice with a little ginger. it's great! a friend of mine told me about a little grocery stand nearby that sells affordable, local produce. i am excited to check it out.
we went to the nashville flea market a couple of weeks ago and it was really fun. it happens once a month and i am counting the days until we can go again. i had the most delicious caramel apple of my life there.
there are still many places and corners of nashville to see, so many new friends to meet. we are only getting started. i cannot wait to share our journey with you guys! thanks for coming back to this space time and time again. xx
