(laughs nervously...) i usually get to my mixed tape at the beginning of each month and this months came on the very last day...whoops. i do apologize for the delay, it's been a crazy month with the new website launch, new baby planning/adjusting and more. thank you for your patience! happy listening...

BAKE IT: OATMEAL COOKIES.

so yesterday i made THE BEST oatmeal cookies. they were soft and chewy and just scrumptious so i had to share the recipe with all of you. these are super easy to make and even more fun to eat. you'll have a hard time sharing these yummy little cookies.

these would be so fun to bake on a sunday afternoon...(hint hint) and they make your house smell incredible!

those are the ingredients above, but i'll type them for you just incase you can't read my chicken scratch and also so i can make a few important little notes.

ingredients:
1 cup softened butter
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
recipe calls for 3 cups quick cooking oats, however i suggest cutting it down to 2 for even softer chewy cookies. you may add raisins and nuts if you'd like although i am not a fan. ooh chocolate chips would be delicious too!

step one: in medium bowl, cream together butter, white sugar and brown sugar. beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla. combine flour, baking soda, salt and cinnamon. stir into creamed mixture. mix in oats. cover and chill dough for at least one hour.




step two: preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). grease cookie sheet. roll dough into walnut sized balls and place 2 inches aprat on cookie sheets. flatten each cookie with a large fork  dipped in sugar.



step three: bake for 8 to 10 minutes in preheated oven. allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. then eat and enjoy!!!

SO BEHIND.

i am so so so so...so behind this week. i am behind on the shop update. behind on sewing. behind on projects. behind on chores. my february mixed tape is still not posted and february is almost over. basically i'm behind on life. but... i say it's okay because... a. i'm my own boss and b. i have a pretty good excuse for being tired these days.i'm going to remove myself from the computer for most of the day and really try to play catch up on some very important things!

SUGAR & SPICE.

i don't know if i'm having a boy or a girl yet and i can't help but want to start buying things for the baby bird. it's really all i've been thinking about today. i'm going to let you in on a tiny little secret...i am hoping for a baby girl! i will of course be extremely happy if it's a little boy, girls are just so fun to buy for. the little dresses, little shoes, girlie toys, PINK, i just can't help it.

i'm not going to buy anything gender specific until i know, which will hopefully be soon, but in the meantime i can buy things that could go either way. i am in total utter love with these little knitted food toys. does anyone know where they are from? i found a few on etsy that are kind of like these, but if any of you know where i can get these specific ones or something very similar i would be oh so happy!
please help...the baby bird NEEDS them. :)
i also love these little girl spaces. so inspiring! wish i knew what i was having so i could start decorating! the suspense is killing me! 
 
   

oh, i know, i'm terrible! i should be looking at boy stuff too and i do, really i do, but i can't help but spend most of my baby searching time dreaming about all the cute girlie things. i mean come on, can you blame me?
